THE RUMBLE: LOS ANGELES IS TONIGHT @ 3 CLUBS

THE RUMBLE: LOS ANGELES @ 3 Clubs happens TONIGHT and we all had good fortune smile upon us when RUMSPRINGA stepped forward to headline our party as they prep for SXSW. We've been fans for some time and finally got our opportunity to bring them into that 3 Clubs backroom where they will take it apart.

That leads us to TWIN TIGERS from Athens, Georgia, a band that will be playing through the circuit that started last night in SF, into LA, San Diego, and will be playing THE RUMBLE: LAS VEGAS that will be a part of the NEON REVERB MUSIC FESTIVAL on the 12th. They will keep the wheels turning to Austin and will be playing THE RUMBLE @ SXSW at Shangra La. Their debut record - 'Gray Waves' on Old Flame Records dropped Tuesday and the album is a flamethrower. Here's what AQUARIUM DRUNKARD has to say about it: "A four piece, the bands live show kills, reminiscent of Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine and Psychocandy era JAMC."

Opening up LA, but headlining THE RUMBLE: SAN DIEGO is a band that we're freaked out about - BEATERS. This band heads out on tour as direct support to THE SOFT PACK post-SXSW, and we get to double-dip with them in both cities, in our effort to show swap San Diego and Los Angeles bands together. They had us from the first 30 seconds of "Fishage".

Our lovely resident DJ's, S.i.S. are always present, and always bring their smiles and great selections.

The party is FREE.

3 Clubs is located on the corner of Vine and Santa Monica Blvd.

The Rumble: Los Angeles is brought to you by Future Sounds, RM64, Buzzbands.LA, BMI, WOXY.COM, Stranded In Stereo and Spin Earth.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES - THE RUMBLE: LA @ 3 CLUBS

In the highly competitive season of Holiday shows, benefits and parties, tonight in LA delivers plenty of options. Options are nice, but THE RUMBLE: LOS ANGELES is mandatory. You must come to this show, please.

What's on tap this month is a four band line up, and a true battle of LA vs. SD. The upstart San Diego, as you know and as we've reported previously, is coming strong these days with quality band after band. Tonight they are represented in a 'The Warriors' style battle royale by TAPE DECK MOUNTAIN, the heralded buzzing act that Pitchfork loves, and the Arcade Fire-like power of THE DROWNING MEN. Los Angeles steps forward with the Pretenders-meets-Belly rock and roll of ALL WRONG & THE PLANS CHANGE and first up will be the uber-creative, EVAN VOYTAS. The ladies that call themselves DJ S.i.S. will be there making all the boys stare at them on the turntables.

Joining The Rumble: Los Angeles family of partners is BUZZBANDS.LA. We've read Kevin's column for years at the Times, now as the full-fledged BB.LA blog, he's out every night reporting back on what we should've have gone out to see. Welcome brother.

The Rumble: Los Angeles is FREE and it's at 3 Clubs in Hollywood - on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Vine. Don't spend too much time in the Army surplus store, get in early for EV.

HOME COOKIN' - THE RUMBLE: LOS ANGELES TONIGHT @ 3 CLUBS

Properly prepare yourself for THE RUMBLE: LOS ANGELES @ 3 Clubs this Thursday night, as it will be shoulder to shoulder in the back room for another amazing night of FREE music brought to you by Future Sounds, BMI, RM64, WOXY, Spin Earth, Stranded In Stereo and The Owl Magazine.

Headlining this week's party is the band formerly known as THE LIBRARY, now called PRAYER come in to top off the evening. Prayer recently turned out the Big Apple at CMJ and have just finished up five new songs with Alexi Aldi (PASSION PIT).

A late addition to the party, but a welcome one, are PARADE OF LIGHTS. This band is being discussed by a&r weasels everywhere and their live performances are gaining local groundswell.

First up will be a band YOU CAN'T MISS - San Diego's APES OF WRATH! Future Sounds Records dropped their next single, "Deathtrain" yesterday on you on iTunes, but you need to see this trio live and you'll be on board like we were. They've done all the Rumble dates this month, performing in Seattle, Portland and last night in San Francisco this week.

Our resident DJ's, S.i.S. will be turning heads and shakin' asses on the turntables in between the bands.

The party is FREE - 3 Clubs is located at 1123 Vine Street (cross S. Monica)

THE RUMBLE: LOS ANGELES TONIGHT @ 3 CLUBS

THE RUMBLE: LOS ANGELES on Thursday at 3 Clubs is going to be outrageous!

It's the homecoming of FITZ & THE TANTRUMS, fresh off his tour where he played Red Rocks and The Greek Theatre and heads into KRCW's Morning Becomes Eclectic. Fitz & Co are doing ALL of the Rumble West Coast parties in October.

We found the perfect bands to accompany Fitz for this month's Rumble - from San Diego it's the dynamo that is LADY DOTTIE & THE DIAMONDS. Dotty is like SHARON JONES on speed, and delivers music with The Diamonds that storms like monsoon season.

From Seattle is THE BLAKES! That's right, they are on the bill with a brand new record that sounds like the NUGGETS box set squeezed out a baby and out popped 'Souvenir'. We've already watched them destroy the Rumble: Seattle and the Rumble: Portland, now they take on LA and San Diego as this trio does a round show together this week.

Those lovely ladies, DJ S.i.S. return as our resident DJ's and the party is FREE!

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: THE RUMBLE: LA @ 3 CLUBS IS A DANCE PARTY

LA is not known as a town where the cool kids dance, but tonight we're lifting the 'cool' ban and allowing people to groove without ridicule at THE RUMBLE: LOS ANGELES @ 3 Clubs in Hollywood. Very appropriately named, the opening act are called THE DANCE PARTY from Washington D.C. and they'll set the stage for an entire evening of movement.

Then, in what could be a true test of the limits of the band room in 3 Clubs, the 7 piece UNITED STATE OF ELECTRONICA will dissolve the distance between performers and audience and deliver song after song from their newly released album, 'L O V E W O R L D'. Here's a taste...

U.S.E are nothing short of a spectacle, an awesome force to experience. You'll stand a crossroads at this point in the evening, do you have a drink and a seat, or keep it up? That's when the newly named headliner, PRAYER, steps up and delivers a set of music that will convert the sinners. Formerly THE LIBRARY, Prayer has been hiding out, working on their scripture, and will be dropping new songs for the first time at The Rumble.

The party is FREE, so no hangups there. Besides, you have a free pass to dance this evening. The lovely sister duo of DJ S.i.S. will make sure no one slips between bands.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES - THE RUMBLE: LA @ 3 CLUBS WITH DIOS

Future Sounds is already starting to celebrate the latest release by DIOS, "Cosmic Rays" (Buddyhead) so we wrapped our RUMBLE: LA party this month around their goodness tonight at 3 Clubs in Hollywood.

She's been called the new PATSY CLINE, huh? 'Dems big words, but LA's AUDRA MAE backs it up with a voice that's gigantic. Audra takes the stage at 10:15pm, and opening up is THE NIGHTS, a band who's track we're featuring on FS33, "Lonely Soul" that seems to make everyone want to text me/twitter me/email me everytime we play it on the show.

The lovely lovely sister DJ's - S.i.S. will be on the decks and the party is FREE! All our pals, RM64, STRANDED IN STEREO and THE OWL MAG will be hanging around as well and for you non-subscribers, we'll be handing out copies of FUTURE SOUNDS 33 at The Rumble tonight.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: THE RUMBLE: LA WITH BAND OF SKULLS

If tonight's live performances are anywhere near last night's in SF, those of you who aren't at Green Day will witness the real show of the night in Los Angeles. You've heard us blabber on and on about BAND OF SKULLS, or current obsession, but it was APTEKA last night that gave the champions a run for their money. They stored up all their energy on the drive from Chicago and brought the A-game. Joining the party this evening from San Francisco is FRENCH MIAMI, a band who's self-titled album is amazing. We've got some other newcomers to the evening at 3 Clubs in Hollywood, DJ's S.I.S. hit the decks and I'm told you'll want to stare at them all night instead of dance. What we have here tonight is three bands that are amazing live performers.

Guess what? Tonight's RUMBLE: LA is FREE to get in. So catch Band Of Skulls before they have to get up early and perform on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic. Get personal for a change in a city of cars.
