TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: TRANSFER @ THE VIPER ROOM

We seem to have a love affair going on with the music scene of San Diego of late, as 'those guys' down south keep cranking out bands that are doing something very interesting. One of the many strong acts, and one that just won best rock band in SD, TRANSFER, plays tonight @ The Viper Room. They go on at 10pm so all you old heads can roll over there after Idol. Transfer has been a vital part of the SD music community for some time now and they are a part of the uber cool OBSCURE MAGPIE collective.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: THE STONE FOXES @ VIPER ROOM

Tonight at The Viper Room in Los Angeles, it's the San Francisco band, THE STONE FOXES, that delivered the surprise standout track on the recently released, LOVE & ROCKETS tribute record, 'New Tales To Tell', with their version of 'Fever'. Dark and dirty rock and roll here, worth rolling out to Sunset for their set.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: TWIN TIGERS @ THE VIPER ROOM

We were recently in Nashville for the NEXT BIG NASHVILLE conference, and on our showcase at The End we happened upon one of our new favorite bands in some time - TWIN TIGERS from Athens, Georgia. Watch this band closely, it's the kind of band that could dismantle SilverSun Pickups from their perch on top of the Smashing Pumpkins/Primal Scream/Sonic Youth post. Their live show is stunning, and not to be missed because the next time you see these kids, they'll probably be opening for some huge act like R.E.M.. Tonight's set at the Viper Room is not to be missed.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: ALL WRONG & THE PLANS CHANGE @ VIPER ROOM

You'll need a fan to cool off if you head out to see ALL WRONG & THE PLANS CHANGE @ The Viper Room this evening. These ladies share the bill with THE DANCE PARTY, DYNAMITE WALLS, BURN DOWN THE MISSION and THE JAKES.

THURSDAY NIGHT IN LA: ALL WRONG & THE PLANS CHANGE & AWOLNATION

Future Sounds & RM64 are proud to present a show with a two acts that we love on Thursday night at The Viper Room. I know, the parking, don't sweat it, this will be worth it.

Headlining it's AWOLNATION, which is the latest creative expression from former UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF GIANTS (FS21) frontman, Aaron Bruno, and it's the band's first show. We've heard the early demos and it's sounding large indeed, and they are giving away an mp3 on the Myspace page.

Supporting AWOLNation is Future Sounds 33 star - ALL WRONG & THE PLANS CHANGE ("I Get Down"). I won't even try and hide my love for this four piece, just wait until you hear Kassia hit the big notes in "Whiskey Birds". You'll be a follower from then on. I'll be honest, I don't know who JINNRAIL is, but on this bill, how can you go wrong?? You can pick up a ticket for $10 on Ticketweb.

There will be an after party at On The Rox, with Nick Adler handling the DJ duties, see one of us at the show for the password.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: APES OF WRATH @ VIPER ROOM

If you follow us at all, you know we're freaks for anything having to do with monkeys, and so we were instantly smitten when friends turned us onto one of the coolest bands in existence from San Diego - APES OF WRATH. We've been playing "Wide Awake" on the FS radio show quite a bit off their newly released EP on Obscure Magpie Records (now that's a label name) and are pleased to have added them to our soon to be announced, RUMBLE: SAN DIEGO show at The Casbah. They are on early - hit me up if you need some list action, I have a few slots.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: THE RINGERS + THE YELLING

Two of the hardest rocking bands in Los Angeles are playing tonight at The Viper Room - THE RINGERS and THE YELLING. Get your earplugs ready but be ready to actually enjoy yourself at a show. Show is $10.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: DJANGO JAMES + FITZ @ VIPER ROOM

Not only is tonight's Viper Room show a HELLYA! night, it's also sweet Heather's birthday party - so tonight's line up is like a who's who of the artists rising in LA. Of course dear to the FS hearts you have DJANGO JAMES & THE MIDNIGHT SQUIRES and FITZ & THE TANTRUMS playing back to back, but then you throw in DR SEAHORSE and ROB ROY. Doors at 9pm and you'll need to Twitter Heather to find out what she present to get her. Hellya!
