SHOWS IN LOS ANGELES TONIGHT

Our friends, LONGWAVE, headline the Troubadour tonight. Maybe you caught them on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic this AM? If not, I'm sure you heard their Future Sounds session on WOXY? WAR TAPES are also on the bill.

Another one of our really good friends, WEIRD DREAMS, formerly LOW FLYING OWLS (FS01), are playing the 3 of Clubs tonight - their first show as this line-up. We're lucky enough to have them play THE RUMBLE: LOS ANGELES in January.

Prefer ladies with heavenly voices? OBI BEST and RACHEL GOODRICH are at HOTEL CAFE tonight.

POP LEVI (FS27) and San Francisco's FRENCH MIAMI are at Spaceland tonight for Club NME & Indie 103 Presents.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: POP LEVI MOVIE PREMIERE

POP LEVI (FS27) and KCRW are presenting the US premiere of Pop's film, "You Gotta Run" tonight at the Silent Movie Theater in Hollywood. Pop will also do an intimate performance for those in attendance = Doors at 8PM.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: THE HEAVY & THE YELLING

Tonight you have some choices. The bad daddy of a show is taking place over at the Echo where FS favorites, THE HEAVY, do their heavy funk, nasty bass, CURTIS MAYFIELD howlin' jams with some support from another English freak, POP LEVI, who destroyed our RUMBLE party in September. THE GRAY KID handles his business as good as anyone.

Meanwhile, across town on the Sunset strip at The Roxy, the UK act WHITE LIES headlines another complete bill. We've played the hell out of their single "Death" on the FS radio show, and now's the chance to see them live in the States. I heard mixed reports on JAPANESE MOTORS live, although people chatter about them, but the band we worship here at the office, THE YELLING, hits the stage at 8PM. This young LA band could very well become a household name in the coming years as they mature into the huge potential that oozes from them.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: SHOWS EVERYWHERE

Too many great options tonight in LA, so here's some picks based on past FS friends....

The biggie tonight has to be at the Hollywood Bowl> NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS, SPIRITUALIZED & CAT POWER. Show starts at 7:30pm.

Their quick rise has them jamming the Wiltern, but VAMPIRE WEEKEND has earned it by touring non-stop. Support comes from WHITE WILLIAMS and ABE VIGODA.

Are you kidding me, MGMT on the same night as the others? They play tonight at the Music Box @ Fonda.

Fresh off his appearance at the Monolith Festival in Red Rocks, POP LEVI returns to play Spaceland tonight for the Club NME night.

The upstarts from the OC, VENUS INFERS, will be playing tonight at Club Moscow at Boardeners in Hollywood.

If all these choices aren't enough, TWEAK BIRD has their record release show at the Silverlake Lounge. I've heard the record and it's good!
