Radio Free Silverlake has put together a quality bill at the Silverlake Lounge with our friends, THAILAND (tipped in FS26), for the band's EP release party. I dig the new songs, especially "Control Control".

Just down the path at Spaceland for Club NME night, OSLO (FS31) play their last show before locking themselves in the studio again for a new record. Early leaks of those sessions sound amazing, putting a spin on how you view the band. Also on the bill is another former Future Sounds band, THE HUNDRED DAYS (FS27) down from San Francisco. We've been fortunate enough to have both bands play THE RUMBLE: SAN FRANCISCO.

Big thanks to Jennifer over at ASCAP for the tip on today's NEW SOUNDS artists - MILES BENJAMIN ANTHONY ROBINSON. This Brooklyn based artist's full length that hit my mailbox is one that I'm sure many will be talking about for the rest of the year. Miles now has a backing band, The Black Boys, and has worked with GRIZZLY BEAR and TV ON THE RADIO yet his bio says he "has squandered much of his initial momentum and potential promise in an alcoholic haze and series of shambling ". His self-titled full length will drop on July 1st on Say Hey Records and it's been on heavy rotation since it's arrival. Immediate standout track "Buriedfed" will pull you in. INTRODUCING...HOT SPRINGS - FUTURE SOUNDS DEBUTS

On yesterday's radio show on Little Radio, the band that was featured in the 'INTRODUCING..." segment is a band called HOT SPRINGS from Montreal, Canada. Fronted by the unforgettable voice of Giselle Webber, the 4-piece has roots deep in punk rock, but Webber has also spent time singing over old jazz records to create a sound that is definitely her own. Part MY BRIGHTEST DIAMOND, part MACY GREY on acid, Giselle's voice could easily pull off a great cover of 'Love Removal Machine' one moment, before coming out acoustically and dropping 'Strange Fruit'. Their full length came my way, "Volcano", and its top to bottom strong and one that will be on my 'Best Of' list when the year ends I'm sure. They are playing the NXNE festival coming up in Toronto, and the online chatter is a plenty on them. Check out "Headrush" if you get the chance - it howls!!
