TONIGHT @ NEXT BIG NASHVILLE: THE BLACK ANGELS @ FS/WOXY SHOWCASE

It's rainy and gray today in Nashville, perfect for the darkness that is THE BLACK ANGELS, as they play the FS/WOXY showcase tonight at NEXT BIG NASHVILLE at The Exit/In. Joining the Austin band that's OD'd on VU, is someone we're really enjoying, DISAPPEARS, as well as BEAR IN HEAVEN and Nashville's COURTNEY TIDWELL. Quite a line-up. Check the NBN site for details.

PHOTOS FROM LAST NIGHT'S FUTURE SOUNDS/WOXY SHOWCASE IN NASHVILLE

On our first night at NEXT BIG NASHVILLE at The End, we had an amazing turnout to see the FS/WOXY showcase. ALBERTA CROSS delivered a stunning set of music.

Phosphorescence is a process in which energy absorbed by a substance is released relatively slowly in the form of light. Last night's show was capped off by PHOSPHORESCENT who actually threw energy back into the crowd.

These amazing photos were taken by Jonathan Kingsbury

FUTURE SOUNDS GOES BIG @ NEXT BIG NASHVILLE IN OCTOBER

Future Sounds is proud to take part in this year's NEXT BIG NASHVILLE conference from October 7th through the 11th in Music City. We're doing 4 nights of showcases with our friends WOXY and the HOT FREAKS and having the first ever RUMBLE: NASHVILLE. What impressed us most about the NBN folks was their quest to really champion the artists in their region of the US and their willingness to take chances on bands that are still building their buzz, rather than just rehashing all the usual suspects as many of the industry conferences have gone. It's a place where bands can still play and have a chance at something happening to their career. Bigger isn't always better.

We're holding court at The EXIT/IN all week and although we can't share the whole line ups for each night just yet, we can say that we have many former Future Sounds acts such as THE BLACK ANGELS, DAVID VANDERVELDE, OTHER GIRLS, BLACK GOLD, JEMINA PEARL (Formerly Be Your Own Pet), PHOSPHORESCENT, JESSICA LEA MAYFIELD, and DEAD CONFEDERATE. We'll have more for you soon.

We'll be announcing our showcases soon, and more about the conference. Here's the NBN Press Release....
