ANNOUNCING THE HOLLYWOOD BREWFEST AT THE MUSIC BOX @ FONDA 10.10.09

If you've been watching, we're mounting up parties and festivals everywhere from Austin to Nashville to New York to Manchester, England, but what about some LA love? We didn't forget our family, there's so much local love that we've decided to throw an event we where we can all drink ourselves silly - so we're pleased to announce the first ever HOLLYWOOD BREWFEST at The Music Box @ Fonda in Hollywood on October 10th.

Future Sounds joined forces with The Music Box, as well as The Blue Palms BrewHouse and the Firestone Brewery to put on this inaugural event which will feature over 30 of the finest brewers in the world including Firestone Walker, Nectar Ales, Magic Hat, Pyramid Brewing, Wyders Cider, Coronado Brewing, Dogfish Head, Speakeasy, and Oskar Blues-to name a few plus, a line-up of over 15 buzz-worthy bands and DJ’s, all spread out over three levels, six rooms and over 25,000 square feet of space.

Doors open at 3:00 p.m. and the festivities will conclude at 10:00 p.m. Tickets for the event are $40 in advance and $45 at the door. Ticket price includes live entertainment on two stages, rooftop DJ’s and six tastings from the brewery selections. VIP ticket options are available for $60 per person and get to enter the Fonda at 2:00 p.m. to get free tastes in the cask room.

Future Sounds was tapped to curate the musical line-up, and we'll follow up this announcement with another about what artists will be playing outside in the beer garden, what DJ's will be on the rooftop deck of the Fonda, and what bands will be delivering inside on the main stage. Oh my, the lovely Natasha Khan of BAT FOR LASHES headlines the Music Box @ Fonda this evening (The excellent OTHER LIVES supports). That haunting "Daniel" gets in your head and stays like an old college buddy on your couch.

If you can't go the big ticket item at The Fonda, it's Free residency night at Spaceland and The Echo with a duel between two bands we love: LOCAL NATIVES and THE GROWLERS.

A band that I believe will be a breakout band in 2009, THE BUILDERS & THE BUTCHERS are in town tonight at THE MUSIC BOX, supporting Amanda Palmer & The Danger Ensemble. They are on first of three, but get there early, it's worth it, these guys from Portland have a live show that is unreal.
