TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: TENLONS FORT LP RELEASE SHOW @ SYNCHRONICITY SPACE

A guy we really admire, Jack Gibson - aka TENLONS FORT - is in town from Austin and holding his LP release show tonight @ Synchronicity Space. The album is called 'Shelters' and there's a real backstory to it, in that 'ol Jack has a big heart, and not only wrote ten songs that each have a painting that accompanies them, but 50% of the proceeds from 'Shelters' will go to a fund that helps homeless individuals in Los Angeles. Also on the bill, Will Courtney (Brothers and Sisters), Downtown/Union and Manhattan Murder Mystery.

FUTURE SOUNDS PRESENTS THE AVI BUFFALO RESIDENCY NIGHT 1

Tonight is the first night of the May residency of AVI BUFFALO at The Echo, and Future Sounds was more than eager to help spread the word and "Present" the night. Avi and the gang recently played our Rumble: LA party and if we weren't already impressed by the music, seeing this band perform live, we absolutely fell in love with them. We spent some time with the band and got this great interview out of them > {Read Interview}.

For a taste of what you can expect, here's an mp3 from their new EP, "Settled Tigertail":
Download "What's In It For?" (mp3)

The show starts nice and early, 8pm, as some of these kids are still in high school and it's Free if you're over 21, $7 if you're under 21.

For this first party, AVI has chosen an amazing supporting cast, with DEEP SEA DIVER from Long Beach performing her new EP, "New Caves". Another band we play very often on the FS radio show is Austin's TENLONS FORT, and we're praying he plays songs off "Forever Is A Long Time EP". 60 WATT KID and TIME OF WOLVES round out this fantastic bill.

FUTURE SOUNDS PROUDLY PRESENTS THE 1ST NIGHT OF AVI BUFFALO RESIDENCY

If you read this blog or listen to the FS radio show even occasionally, you know we have a real sweet spot for the high school band from Long Beach called AVI BUFFALO. The band has a residency for the month of May at The Echo starting Tuesday May 5th, and Future Sounds is getting behind the night to support them. Lots of rumors swirling about around this young band, that one of the historic indie labels is sniffing around them, and personally, it's only a matter of time before the world wakes up to this talent. Also playing are some other FS favorites, like TENLONS FORT and DEEP SEA DIVER.

It's Free if you are 21 and up, $5 if not.

FUTURE SOUNDS DEBUTS.....

More information on bands that debuted this week on the FUTURE SOUNDS radio show....

CLARE MAGUIRE
FROM: UK
MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/claremaguire
Unsigned

20 years old and a voice this amazing??? Look out ADELE and DUFFY, a new upstart is on your tail. Only three songs she's showing, and this is the only picture we can find on her. Mysterious.....
Tell me "Strangest Thing" doesn't have hit potential. Check out her site for free downloads.

TENLONS FORT
FROM: Austin, TX
MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/tenlonsfortmusic
Haunted Maggot Records

From the brand new EP, "Forever Is A Long Time", Austin's TENLONS FORT makes absolutely stunning music. Every track that came my way was fine. Catch them playing Wednesday night in LA at Tangiers and the 16th at Boarderners for the RadioFree Silverlake night.

{{{SUNSET}}}
FROM: Austin, TX
MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/lobosunset
Autobus

Bill Baird, formerly of SOUNDTEAM has reinvented himself with this amazingly atmospheric track that's some music supervisors wet dream. Check out track, "Diamond Studded Caskets"

MOTHER MOTHER
FROM: Vancouver
MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/mothermotherspace
Last Gang Records

So I just read that Perez Hilton blogged about these kids and drive 5,000 views an hour to their page, so we're SO last year finally playing this, but we're not obsessed with being first to anything, we'd rather just share bands we like. The voice of
Molly Guldemond is pretty noteable.
Listen to "Body Of Years"

THE BUILDERS & THE BUTCHERS
FROM: Portland
MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/thebuildersandthebucthers
Bladen County Records

Could be this year's BLITZEN TRAPPER, live this Portland band brings it! Everything great about indie rock.
Check out "The Bottom Of The Lake"

THE SILENTS
FROM: Perth, Australia
MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/thesilentsband
Ivy League Records (AU)

From the home of Luc Longley, Perth's THE SILENTS can actually play their instruments like few other young bands these days. Not a jam band, but these guys can flat out jam! Something's happening here.

HEAVY YOUNG HEATHENS
FROM: Los Angeles
MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/heavyyoungheathens

One of those bands I'm completely intrigued by and can't wait to meet and see play live. My imagination is pretty creative, so if LA's HEAVY YOUNG HEATHENS even halfway live up to the band I've conjured up, we'll have another local favorite. Thanks to the Diablo. Listen to "Drawn From Memory"

WHITE BELT, YELLOW TAG.
FROM: London
MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/whitebeltyellowtag

Another big mystery band, we know they are from London, and they are nice enough over email, but the end result is some really bad ass music. I'd love to tell you more about them if only I knew. In the meantime, enjoy the music, like track "You're Not Invincible"
