TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: LYKKE LI @ EL REY - MANY GREAT SHOWS

An embarrassment of riches indeed is what we have tonight in Los Angeles if you like good music and want to start the Obama victory celebration early.

Running four deep: LYKKE LI, FRIENDLY FIRES, GRAND OLE PARTY & THE MAE SHI are playing the Sold Out El Rey tonight. Since being the first formal release of the Swedish sensation, Lykke Li, back a bit on Future Sounds 30, she's caught fire and become everyone's darling. Friendly Fires and that song 'Paris' is on every cool kids list these days, and San Diego's Grand Ole Party and LA's The Mae Shi give something for just about everyone.

THE SPINTO BAND (FS21), Glasglow's FRIGHTENED RABBIT and MINIATURE TIGERS play the Echoplex this evening. In a tough economy these venues are giving us our money's worth with line ups such as these - top to bottom strong.

A band I've always thought would've taken off in the US but hasn't truly, MANDO DIAO (FS08) plays tonight WE BARBARIANS at The Troubadour.

Competing with these shows are THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS @ the Mayan and THE MONOLATORS @ Pehrspace.

TONIGHT IN LOS ANGELES: LYKKE LI @ HOTEL CAFE

Future Sounds was proud to be the first release in the world (FS30) of LYKKE LI's "Little Bit" and had one of her very first US appearances when she jumped on stage with SHOUT OUT LOUDS on the Brooklyn stop on the Future Sounds Tour last November, and since then she's done nothing but become everyone's darling. Tonight, if you hurry, you can see her in an intimate setting, the HOTEL CAFE in Hollywood, on at 8:30PM. If you haven't been lucky enough to catch this chanteuse, now is your chance.

TONIGHT IN LA: LYKKE LI + EL PERRO DEL MAR

Two Future Sounds favorites come into town tonight from Sweden: EL PERRO DEL MAR & LYKKE LI! They play the El Rey this evening with newcomer and fellow Swede, Anna Ternheim. Should be a night filled with gorgeous voices.

If you've spent any time on this blog over the past year then you know my love for the Swedes and our support of them. You may also remember one artist that was on Future Sounds 30, LYKKE LI, and her track "Little Bit", which was one of the most commented on songs in recent compilations. She's been hard at work making a full length, and I just came across this new video of LYKKE LI with the gang from SHOUT OUT LOUDS.

Tonight at The Viper Room it's our boy - SAM SPARRO (FS29)! He just got back from tearing up London, where it seems everyone is chasing him on the label front.

This just recently showed up on HITS regarding FS30 act, LYKKE LI:
JUST LIKE OLD TIMES: Lots of weasel action happening for the Filip Wilén-managed Lykke Li. Label reps and publishers were out in full force for the 21-year old Swedish act’s shows in N.Y. during the last couple of weeks. We heard her Mercury Lounge gig was sold out purely from the industry guest list. Label reps who attended shared with us that they were surprised to see that many industry folks filling up the Mercury. Li has been in the Apple recording an album with producer Bjorn Yttling from Peter Bjorn & John. It looks like the industry frenzy may shift across the pond for Li’s upcoming U.K. shows…

LYKKE LI: TONIGHT IN NEW YORK

If you've received your copy of FUTURE SOUNDS 30, then you've heard the amazing voice of LYKKE LI. She's the latest Swedish import and her track, "Little Bit" is one of the highlights of this month's comp. If you came out to the Brooklyn SHOUT OUT LOUDS show, you caught her on stage with the band for 'Impossible". Lykke, only 21 years old, is in New York City tonight, to showcase for plenty of industry while she finishes up recordings on her full length with Bjorn Ytting, of PETER, BJORN & JOHN. This is her last of two NYC shows, so get out and see it if you can tonight:
