TONIGHT - THE RUMBLE: SEATTLE @ HAVANA SOCIAL CLUB
Really? It's March already? SXSW time again? Well, in order to get you in the spirit of catching a lot of live music this month, we are starting March off immediately with THE RUMBLE: SEATTLE tonight at the Havana Social Club in Capitol Hill. This intimate setting is perfect to catch bands that are so good, you'll never see them in a room this size again.
The dynamic duo that is HAIR ENVELOPE bring their arsenal of instrumentation and genres to the party, going off with keyboards, sequencers, saxophones, drums and some other tricks up their sleeves. One site called them, " a concoction of electronic circus jazz and experimental pop sounds" which I think best describes their uniqueness. Whatever you call it, it's good music to me and to you if you show up this evening for a free night of music.
The second band on the bill I have to admit, I have a history with from my days with FILM SCHOOL. NIGHTMARE AIR boast members Dave Dupuis and James Smith of FS, who now have another act, one in which Dupuis handles vocals and they have a Swaan Miller on bass. Seattle knows all about amazing trios, and this is one of them. The band calls both Seattle and Los Angeles home but they are now the world's, getting plenty of ink in the UK from NME and Artrocker. The sound is big, sonic, as their namesake gets closer to nailing. The band is heading to Canadian Music Week after the show for a "Triple-Headline" showcase, and at one point are getting air-lifted in by a promoter.
We're also featuring beer specials from TRUMER PILS tonight for $3.50 - ask for it, tastes great.
The party is FREE and is brought to you by Future Sounds, The Stranger, Line Out, Easy Street Records, The Wig PR, WOXY.COM and Spin Earth.
Labels: Hair Envelope, Havana Social Club, Nightmare Air, The Rumble Seattle
