FS DEBUTS 12.14.09
More information on bands that debuted this week on the FUTURE SOUNDS radio show on WOXY....
This one is going to be big, at least on the Euro side of the pond - DAISY DARES YOU. HUGE hit sounds from this lady that ain't bad to look at (see above). Major label stuff, but I'm not precious when it's done right - Jive/RCA/Sony
Thanks to Seth for sending this one our way, yet another Australian act (what's going on down there??) from Brisbane comes AN HORSE. Mom & Pop Records (US), Valve Records (AU)
Australia delivers yet again with this band, THE VASCO ERA, who are a big deal down there and are poised to strike this time stateside with this track, "Oh, Sam". Universal Music Australia
They seem to be labeled "experimental" by anyone that has listened to the record, I've only heard this one track and was pulled in by it's lack of boundaries. Could be good, could be bad, in this case it's compelling. I just learned they are signed to XL's Double Six Records
Somebody has listed to THE FALL...London's WILD PALMS throw in some WIRE for good measure as well, arty and clanky. Unsigned
Just look at this photo above, these guys, VOLCANOES, are wildcards to say the least. We got sent these demos and this one is worth keeping tabs of, I need to see this one live. Unsigned
You know that Future Sounds loves our GUIDED BY VOICES, think about it - we named our event HOT FREAKS. Sounding like a newborn GBV it's Austin's WAY NO WAY. Unsigned
This voice is from heaven, err, Iceland. Here's what BJORK said about her: “She has a really idiosyncratic sense of chord structure and a voice somewhere between a child and an old woman! She has her own individuality, and the best is yet to come.”- Bjork - One Little Indian
I'm now obsessed with this CD, "Lark Marvels", so much so that I think this should be a breakout act in 2010. Haven't seen it live, but this disc tells me this is legit! Pretty Blue Presents
Probably by the time you read this band will be signed to some genius label in the UK. What's not to like about these kids, it's got that huge FLEET FOXES vocals yet it's not folky. Unsigned
Don't confuse this one for LISSIE TRULIE, another Lissie we love here at FS, it's the Illinois version of a lady with huge potential. Think JONI MITCHELL or CAROLE KING, but from our generation. Fat Possum

This one just came in and judging from the three song demo I received this band has lots of potential in them. A four piece from Toronto with big hooks. UnsignedMYSPACE
