FREE CHRISTMAS MUSIC FROM ANNI ROSSI

If you read this blog from time to time, you know about our affection for the wonderfully talented ANNI ROSSI. The Christmas season is pretty damn cold in Chicago where Anni is from, so Anni stays inside with the nog and cuts some fine tunes of yuletide cheer. As a thank you to everyone who has supported her this year, including big tours with Camera Obscura, Noah and the Whale, Mason Jennings, and more, Anni wants to offer everyone a nice little early holiday gift. Go to annirossi.com and sign up for the fan club, and she'll give you her Christmas Songs EP and a decoder ring that tells you to "drink your Ovaltine." Okay, so the latter is a fib, but the EP is not. Go check it out, and have yourself a merry little Christmas.

Here's a present for you - Download "Silver Bells" - For the FREE Christmas EP, go HERE.

She's not from Chicago; she's from Minneapolis. I went to school with her. She's a total bitch.

Talented, though, yes.

Her debut EP Afton, a six track affair consisting of previously released tracks, including 7" single Wheelpusher, initially released via Too Pure and MySpace previews, was released in October, 2008 through 4AD records. The majority of Afton was recorded at Bomb Shelter Studios, in Los Angeles by Ben Tierney in February, 2006.

Anni recently recorded her debut album with Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago. The album entitled Rockwell was released in March '09 through 4AD Records. An appearance at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival and a west coast tour followed in late winter/early spring of 2009. In 2009, she also toured with Camera Obscura, the Ting Tings (2008) and Headlights.
It was recently announced that she has been chosen by Matt Groening to perform at the edition of the All Tomorrow's Parties festival he is curating in May 2010 in Minehead, England.
