NEW SOUNDS: MINI MANSIONS
One of the newest Los Angeles based acts that have me coming back for more are MINI MANSIONS. It's a three piece made up of that just Zach Dawes, Tyler Parkford and Michael Shuman (yep, that one, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE/WIRES ON FIRE) that just scored the AUTOLUX tour in September. All I needed to hear was the Lennon-esque sounds of "Magik Marker" and I was in. Next local show is on July 30th at the Bootleg Theater with CHIEF and MICHAEL RUNION (another act worth noting). indeed, when you listen this band you can notice the strong influence of the bands you mentioned, but the most notable is Queen Of The Stone Age.
