FUTURE SOUNDS DEBUTS - 8.5.08
More information on bands that debuted this week on the FUTURE SOUNDS show....
So I nicked this song off of good 'ol Rodney Bingenheimer's show on KROQ and it's everything I love about his taste and connection to RAMONES-inspired garage rock.
I don't know much about VERTIGO SMYTH, other than he's unsigned and he's brilliant. This track, "Comfort Me" is warm and ready for some huge TV campaign.
Another young band bubbling up from Fandango land (last time they brought us FOUR DEAD IN OHIO) and this one is currently getting attention in the UK as their debut single.
It's KOOKS fever in the UK these days, and THE LOCARNOS have tapped into the formula and are getting plays on Lamacq and Lowe in London.
Formerly IRVING, a FS favorite from FS01, they just got off a monthly residency in LA that had everyone talking, complete with OBEY posters. This song is simply terrific - a triumph!
Thanks to the Diablo, I'm howlin' over Denver's YOUNG COYOTES. Simple, straightforward indie rock on THE DODOS side of the tracks.
